Scanner Question. DPI?

I'm trying to scan art work onto my computer to clean it up with an art program but I don't know how to change or even what my printers DPI is.

My scanner is a HP Photosmart C5250 All-In-One (it scans, prints and copies) and was wondering if/how could I mess with the DPI.

Thanks!Scanner Question. DPI?

Most scanners use a high dpi setting so you will have good resolution on whatever you scan. I'm curious what you mean by ';clean it up with an art program';. What is an art program? Do you mean a graphics program like photoshop?

If so, the art you scan into your computer will be very large with at least 300dpi and you'll be able to open it in photoshop as long as you scan to jpg.
Go in the scannet setup. Change the option to 600 dpi if oyu want a high quality scan. That's it. You will see 150, 200, 300, 600 etc... choose 600.
