Urgent! how can i change my scanned artwork's dpi to 72?

i am not printing it though.. i am going to submit it. but i dont know how to check if its at 72 dpi..Urgent! how can i change my scanned artwork's dpi to 72?
Scanners usually scan at 300 dpi, you can set them differently, if you want to resample the image, open a new file in your editing software at 72dpi, set the height and width how you want. then paste the scanned image.

You need software such as Photoshop but it is expensive.



Here is a bucketful of free applications. GIMP is similar to Photoshop but just take your pick.

Another alternative is to scan at 72 dpi.
