Question about Unbuntu DPI change and WINE for Linux beginner?

Question about Unbuntu on how to get right DPI and how to install wine?

If you give a code, please specify if I enter it in the terminal or whereever. I have 9.04. I need wine. I added it the the third party software sources but when I tried to add the key but when I check for wine, its nowhere to be found. Also, my monitor has recommended dpi of 1440 x 900.

The best way to install wine in ubuntu is to use synaptic. You should remove any old files from other attempts at installing wine and let synaptic do a clean install of wine.

In general synaptic should be where you go first to install ANY software in ubuntu.

Check the instructions for synaptic in the link below.

sudo apt-get install wine
Additional information for Jerry T answer, when in Synaptic which is the package management program, in the search box type Ubuntu Restricted. This will install drivers and programs that are not part of Linux in general, this includes video drivers, flash player and some other files. You can find the Wine program the same way. Everything will install after you check them and then click apply. Hope this helps.
