Installed a new operating system, now my screen is weird?

Hi, I just recently installed a new operating system to my Windows Vista laptop and now the screen and words are kinda blurry. The icons are a little bigger , the internet pages are weird- they're bigger than usual, and I've tried everything to fix it (changed DPI font, display settings, and everything). Can anyone help me change my screen back to how it used to be? Thanks so much!Installed a new operating system, now my screen is weird?
You didn't install the drivers written for your computer's particular video card, that's why things look wierd.

When you don't install the drivers written specifically for the particular video card in your computer, Windows will automatically use the generic ';Standard VGA Graphics Adapter'; driver instead, and that generic driver supports only very limited resolutions and color depths.

So you need to find out what graphics card is in your computer, then download the drivers written specifically for it from the card manufacturer's website, and install that. Until you do that, you will NOT be able to get your computer's display to look normal again.Installed a new operating system, now my screen is weird?
What operating system did you install? It sounds like you are missing your display drivers. The computer defaults to a generic 640X480 and 8 bit video (bad colors and huge blurry images) without the correct drivers. When you installed the operating system it sounds like you wrote over everything that was there before so you have to reinstall everything to get it back to ';normal';
